TLC by the Lake Poodles & Doodles

TLC by the Lake Poodles & Doodles is a family-run dog breeder and groomer at 1886 Mosser Rd in McHenry, just off Garrett Highway near the McHenry stop light. The family raises Poodles and doodle breeds for new homes and also offers appointment grooming for dogs of all sizes, so it's useful both to lake-area dog owners and to people looking for a puppy.

Grooming by Appointment

Grooming is sized from small dogs up to large breeds well over 100 pounds, with three main options:

• Bath
• Nail care
• Full package: bath, cut-down or style, nails and ears

Before you book, you'll fill in a client and dog information form and send proof of vaccinations. Dogs need to be fully vaccinated at least two weeks before the visit (DHPP, Lepto, Rabies and Bordetella), and they must be treated for fleas and ticks ahead of time. Appointments are arranged by phone, text, email or Messenger.

Poodles, Doodles and Puppy Support

TLC breeds AKC/CKC Standard and Moyen Poodles, Standard and Mini Sheepadoodles, Standard and Mini Bernedoodles and Medium and Mini Goldendoodles. Puppies are raised in the family home and handled from birth, with early child desensitization, and come with health certification, current shots and a written guarantee. The family keeps waitlists for each breed, runs a guardian-home program and a Puppy Pampering training option, and sells puppy starter packs and travel kits through its TLC Shop. The website also has care guides on house breaking, nutrition and training videos.
