Tom Thumb Pest Control

Tom Thumb Pest Control is a pest control business at 2114 Swanton Rd in Swanton. It treats homes and businesses in Oakland, McHenry, Deep Creek Lake, Accident, Grantsville and the wider Garrett County area for insects, termites, bed bugs and nuisance wildlife.

Pests and Wildlife Covered

General pest control covers ants, bed bugs, bees, fleas, pantry pests, rodents, roaches, silverfish and spiders. For termites, the company uses liquid treatments with Termidor or Premise, and termite baiting systems are also available. Bed bugs can be treated with traditional chemical treatments or with heat treatments using a 500,000 BTU propane heater, with follow-up visits to make sure the problem is gone and re-treatment if needed.

The wildlife side covers animal trapping and bat exclusion, along with squirrels, raccoons, opossums, woodchucks and skunks. Both lethal and non-lethal removal are offered.

Treatment Through the Seasons

The company plans its work around the calendar. Spring focuses on preventive treatment for ants and spiders and on termite swarms. Summer brings bees and fleas. Fall is the time for preventive sprays against lady bugs, cluster flies and wasps, and for rodents moving indoors as it gets colder. Winter maintenance helps prevent infestations the following spring and summer.

A Local Business Since 1985

Thomas Panther founded Tom Thumb Pest Control in 1985, and Josh Bishoff joined him in 2002. The company is licensed in Maryland, West Virginia and Pennsylvania and is a member of the National Pest Management Association.
