White Oak Lodge

White Oak Lodge is a 6-bedroom, 3-bath log home on a secluded wooded lot near the main part of Deep Creek Lake that sleeps up to 12. It's one of the homes owners John and Kathy Joyce rent directly through Joyce's Deep Creek Rentals, and its three levels and mix of bed sizes work well for families or two households traveling together.

Inside the Lodge

The home is laid out over three floors:

• Lower level: two bedrooms (a king and a queen), a bath and a recreation room with a wood stove
• Main level: living room, dining room, kitchen, a bath and a covered porch
• Upper level: four bedrooms (two queens, a double and a room with two twins) and a bath

The kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave, oven, coffee maker and Keurig, and there's a washer and dryer, internet, a Blu-ray/DVD player with movies and Wii games. Note that air conditioning covers the upstairs bedrooms only.

Outdoor Spaces and Lake Access

The hot tub sits on the covered lower-level porch, and the yard has a picnic area, gas and charcoal grills and a fire pit. The house isn't directly on the water: a short walk down the road and a set of steps bring you to a semi-private dock that holds two boats, with deep-water swimming off the end. Deep Creek Lake State Park is nearby.

Good to Know

You book directly with the owners, who ask guests to read and confirm both a rental agreement and a separate hot tub agreement. Pets can be added on the booking form, with details in the rental agreement.
