About
White United Methodist Church is a small United Methodist country congregation at 3442 White Church–Steyer Rd south of Oakland. It welcomes neighbours from the farms and homes along the road, and anyone visiting the area, to Sunday worship and fellowship.
A Church That Named Its Road
White Church–Steyer Road takes its name from the church, and the surrounding area is still known locally as White Church, and older Garrett County church lists show the congregation sharing a pastor with nearby Methodist churches in Crellin, Deer Park and Kurtz Chapel as part of a multi-church charge.
What to Expect
As a United Methodist congregation, White Church follows a traditional Protestant order of worship with hymns, scripture, prayer and a sermon, and the church is listed in the denomination's Find-A-Church directory as an English-speaking congregation. It is a small congregation, so it's an easy place to get to know people.
There is no published phone number, so the denomination's listing is the place to start if you'd like to plan a Sunday visit.
