Will O' the Wisp Condominiums is a year-round lakefront condominium resort at 20160 Garrett Highway on Deep Creek Lake, with rentals managed by Railey Vacations. Every unit looks out over the lake from a private balcony or patio, and the mix of efficiencies, studio lofts and one- to three-bedroom suites works for couples, families and small groups alike. Wisp Resort is less than 10 minutes away.
Rooms and Shared Amenities
Each condo is individually owned, so layouts vary, but every room has a kitchenette, free Wi-Fi and a lake view, and most have a fireplace. Larger units run up to three bedrooms and three baths with full kitchens. Shared spaces include:
- Indoor heated pool and split-level whirlpool under skylights, plus a sauna
- 240-foot private sandy beach with chairs, and boat docks that create a protected swimming area
- Fitness center with cardio machines and free weights
- Game room with two pool tables and arcade games
- Racquetball and handball courts, reserved through the front desk
- Covered parking garage with direct access to the building
- Dock slips for guests bringing a boat
A Lakeside Story Since 1943
The Heise family bought a group of 1927 cottages here in 1943 and opened them as 23 rustic cabins called Will O' The Wisp. Their son Ace and his wife Evelyn built a modern motel in 1953 and, looking for winter business, started the Marsh Mountain ski area that became Wisp. The Four Seasons Dining Room followed in 1961, and the condominium building went up in 1975. Today Ace's Run Restaurant & Pub is connected to the building, and Firewater Kitchen & Bar sits a short walk away with views of the lake.
