Small Business Energy Upgrades in Western Maryland
In Maryland, Willdan Energy Solutions is one of the Closed Network Providers for Potomac Edison's Small Business Direct Install program, part of the EmPOWER Maryland initiative. The program is aimed at non-residential Potomac Edison customers in Maryland with average annual demand of 100 kW or less, including commercial, institutional, industrial, religious and multifamily common-area projects. Upgrades can include HVAC tune-ups and controls, refrigeration improvements, LED lighting and controls, high-efficiency cooling, variable frequency drives and food service equipment.
How the Process Works
The program provides an on-site energy assessment, after which the provider prepares a proposal showing line-item costs, utility incentives and the expected payback for each upgrade. The customer decides which measures to install, the team schedules the work, and Willdan staff carry out pre- and post-installation inspections to check the job meets program rules.
