Windy Acres is a 3-bedroom, 3-bath chalet-style log cabin in the Herrington Manor State Park area west of Deep Creek Lake, managed by Taylor-Made Deep Creek Vacations. It sleeps 11 and welcomes up to two pets, and its quiet wooded setting suits families who want to unplug, with downtown Oakland about three miles away.
Inside the Cabin
The open main living area has large windows around a wood-burning stone fireplace, leather seating, taxidermy mounts and wood accents. The kitchen has a large island that doubles as the indoor eating area.
- Upper level: a private primary suite with vaulted ceilings, a queen bed and a bath with a soaking tub and separate shower
- Main level: two bedrooms with full beds and a full bath
- Lower level: a bonus room for kids and teens with two sets of twin bunks, a futon, a smart TV and a third bath
Outdoors and Nearby
The large deck overlooks the meadow of a neighboring horse farm, and there's a private hot tub, a fire pit and a gas grill. Herrington Manor State Park, with its 53-acre lake for swimming, canoeing and kayaking, is right nearby, and Swallow Falls State Park and Muddy Creek Falls are a few minutes away. The rest of the Deep Creek area is within about 15 minutes.
