Zip'eez

Zip'eez is a locally owned beer, wine and spirits shop on Garrett Highway (US 219) between Deep Creek Lake and Oakland. It is a quick stop for the drinks, ice-chest basics and convenience items that you tend to forget on the way to a lake house.

The Garrett County Chamber of Commerce lists Zip'eez as a spirit shop and also under groceries, delis and convenience stores. So along with beer, wine and liquor you can pick up the everyday odds and ends that a rental kitchen or a weekend on the water calls for. The chamber listing also says the shop delivers items ranging from cigarettes and toilet paper to beer, wine and liquor. If you're counting on delivery, call ahead to check what's available and where they go.

Finding the Shop

Zip'eez is at 17869 Garrett Highway, in a roadside plaza it shares with other businesses, including The Rowdy Rooster Bar & Grille. Because it sits on the main road between Oakland and the lake, it's easy to swing in on the way to or from town. You'll need a valid ID for any alcohol purchase.
